IRAN UNVEILED REMIX (2025)
From the Marseille Flower Power Collection, presented at Galerie du Tableau in collaboration with Cabane Georgina, Marseille, September–October 2025.
This series comprises unique photo-based mixed-media works on paper and canvas, combining photographic imagery, layered interventions, transfer techniques, and experimental surface processes. Selected works further incorporate AI-assisted visual generation as an integral component of the compositional process, expanding the dialogue between archival memory, political iconography, and contemporary image-making practices.
From IRAN UNVEILED (2022) to IRAN UNVEILED REMIX (2024-2025)
Iran Unveiled is an independent investigative endeavor based on the capture of photographic stills from a live-streaming security webcam located on the streets of Tehran, Iran.
Following the tragic death of Mahsa Amini in September 2022, I began photographing daily from a computer screen, capturing live-streamed footage from a commercially operated security camera freely accessible online and positioned within a pedestrian area of Tehran. The images document women walking unveiled in public spaces—an act both quiet and extraordinary in its resistance.
The project reveals the dual nature of surveillance: a mechanism conceived for control, yet one that can unexpectedly become a witness to courage, visibility, and dissent. Iran Unveiled stands as a tribute to Iranian women, honoring their resilience, bravery, and revolutionary spirit in the ongoing pursuit of freedom.
When the webcam went dark in March 2024, the series entered a new phase, evolving into IRAN UNVEILED REMIX. I began integrating AI-generated floral interventions into the original images, where watercolors, acrylics, and makeup converge with digital observation to create layered visual testimonies. The Persian rose—deeply embedded in cultural and symbolic memory—emerges as an emblem of resilience, protest, femininity, and remembrance.
Quietly powerful and visually hybrid, the series intertwines technology, activism, and symbolism, reminding us that resistance can take many forms—and that sometimes, it can resemble flower power.
